When Donna Kelce was asked about her son’s wedding, she said she couldn’t say ‘a heck of a lot except it was magical, man. Magical’.
Taylor Swift’s new 73-year-old mother-in-law was one of around 1,000 guests who covertly piled into Madison Square Garden on Friday afternoon to watch Travis Kelce marry the pop megastar.
Footage from inside, obtained by the Daily Mail, showed the venue transformed into a whimsical garden with a giant chapel, covered with trees and rose bushes.
There was no trace of the plastic seats and panelling familiar to those who regularly watch basketball and ice hockey games in the 20,000-seat arena.

Instead, guests were ushered up a coral-coloured staircase and funnelled through passages adorned with ethereal drapes and never-before-seen photos of the couple, before reaching the ceremony through a soaring archway as Candi Staton’s Young Hearts played in the background.
Actor Adam Sandler was said to be the first to appear, ready to officiate on the big day. He was followed by Swift, dressed in Christian Dior haute couture, and flanked by her new nieces – the daughters of Kelce’s brother Jason and wife Kylie – who threw petals as the bride walked towards her groom to an instrumental version of her hit, Love Story.
The $50million spectacle featured a Who’s Who of the entertainment world partying into the early hours, performances by Fleetwood Mac’s Stevie Nicks and Paul McCartney, along with NDAs and the surrender of phones being the order of the day.
So, it’s no surprise the Kelces, who brought up Travis in a modest in a modest middle class suburb in Ohio, found the extravaganza somewhat ‘overwhelming’.

Almost all of them have seen Taylor in concert or have been around her,’ one insider told Extra.ie.
‘They’ve had three years to get used to Taylor’s world. But they’ve never seen anything like the spectacle of MSG [Madison Square Gardens]. It was a lot.’
On the day Kelce, who like his new wife wore Dior, was said to be slightly ‘nervous’ at the altar.
‘He kept it together,’ said one guest. ‘There was a lot of tear drying because Taylor looked tearful during a part in the vows where he promised to protect her for ever.’
Good Morning America host George Stephanopoulos described the vows as ‘real, vulnerable, serious and silly, deeply loving’.

While Swift’s aunt Robin Gentry told LBC: ‘They cried, and they laughed, and they danced, and they hugged, and they kissed.’
The ceremony was more conservative than the raucous-sounding rehearsal dinner on Thursday night, which saw Girls creator Lena Dunham quip during her speech that ‘American football is just straight guys reenacting gay porn’.
Held at the Infosys Theater inside MSG, we are told the crude line drew a ‘divided’ response of ‘gasps and laughs’ from the 100 guests, but delighted Swift who declared her pal a ‘genius’.
Then on Saturday night, MSG confirmed the news, flashing up ‘JUST&T MARRIED!’ on pink digital screens around the venue’s exterior.
Swift’s long-time publicist, Tree Paine, who was at the wedding, confirmed too, sending an email with details on Swift’s dress designer and Sandler’s role. Officiating was a no-brainer for Sandler.

‘They’re big fans of his, personally and professionally. When they asked him, he told them it was a huge honour,’ said an insider.
Others on the guest list included singers Ed Sheeran and Ellie Goulding, who joined Brad Pitt, Selena Gomez, Gigi Hadid, Dakota Johnson, Jessica Chastain, Zoe Kravitz, Emma Stone, Reese Witherspoon, Ethan Hawke, Benson Boone, Jennifer Lopez and a group of Swift’s dancers from her Era’s tour, among many others.
But it was a certain Cork chat show host who reportedly proved to be a big hit on the night. ‘Graham Norton was actually one of the people everyone wanted to speak to,’ one insider told us.
‘I don’t think he realised how popular his show is. People like Lena [Dunham] and Selena [Gomez] were around him.
He was a focal point because Taylor loves him so much.’ Swift had discussed inviting him when she appeared on his TV show.
A source said the multi-day extravaganza left the couple ‘exhausted,’ adding ‘there was no official party on Saturday night’. Instead, Swift’s Falcon 7X jet landed in Connecticut on Saturday, sparking speculation that the newlyweds would unwind at her Rhode Island mansion.
Meanwhile, the 14-time Grammy Award winner has been documenting her proposal and wedding prep in her lyrics.
‘Capturing the moment is important to her, so it would be crazy not to share how she feels,’ said an insider.
