Irish comedian Kyla Cobbler has announced she is pregnant with her first baby with her South African husband, Simon Stewart.
The comic has been open about her desire to become a mum, and now it looks like she is getting just what she wanted – as she shared the sweetest social media update with her 1.2 million followers earlier this morning.
In a joint statement, Kyla and Simon revealed they are expecting their first baby next year.
In the photo, the couple can be seen clutching a positive pregnancy test, and the text over the image simply reads:
‘April 2027’ – followed by an adorable hatching duck emoji.
Captioning their post, the loved up couple simply write:
‘Happy thank you more please’ – which, fans might know, is also the title of Kyla’s new book.
Earlier this summer, Kyla and Simon tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in Cork.
Following her wedding earlier this year, Kyla spoke to the Irish Independent about now feeling ready to take the leap into motherhood.
‘I was talking about the ovulating and the sticks ad trying or whatever, and I said: ‘Look, I don’t want this [experience] to be the whole thing’, because I’ve been around people who tried the first time and got pregnant, and I’ve been around people who are still trying, and I’ve seen incredible, intelligent, creative, ferocious women be broken by it, which I think is also valid,’ she said.
The 35-year-old added: ‘I said, I’m going into this to try and be a mother, and I would love to be a mother, but if for some reason it doesn’t come, know that what we as women bring to the table is so much more than childbearing.’
