Fresh off their first-ever headline set at Electric Picnic, Fontaines D.C. are set to take on another iconic venue.

The Dublin rock band teased at Stradbally that they could be playing Slane Castle, and now the news is officially out.

The Dopamine Chamber rockers are set to take the Meath venue by storm next summer – with demand so high that they’ve added a second date.

The Starburster hit makers will play Slane Castle on Saturday 26th June and Sunday 27th June, and they will make history in the process.

They will become the third ever Irish act to headline at the famous venue.

They will be the first Irish band to headline Slane since U2 in 2001 and Thin Lizzy in 1981.

Supporting acts include Paramore frontwoman Hayley Williams, Damien Dempsey and Irish contemporary-folk band Madra Salach.

Fans will want to mark their diaries as tickets go on sale very soon.

Fontaines fans can snap up pre-sale tickets from Tuesday, 1st September.

Tickets cost €89.25 (including booking fee and €1 charity donation to Focus Ireland) and they go on general sale on Ticketmaster on Thursday 3rd September at 10am.

Previous headliners that drew incredible crowds at Slane Castle include Madonna, The Rolling Stones, and Oasis.
