Katja Mia’s husband, Daragh Curran, has told his followers that he’s ‘out of action’ for the foreseeable after a medical nightmare.
It comes just weeks after he and Katja tied the knot in a legal ceremony, and just weeks before their destination wedding in Italy later this summer.
Daragh, known as ‘the Guinness Guru’ to many, revealed that he’s suffered with back issues for years, but had a ‘stinker’ of a day when he was home alone on Thursday.

‘Jaysis lads, I’ve had a stinker, and could be out of action for a while,’ he began his tale. ‘I’ve suffered with back issues for years, and it locked up again on Wednesday [while I was] playing golf.
‘Then on Thursday, it was very tight, and I stupidly attempted to have a shower with no one else at home. Then s**t really hit the fan.
‘I locked up so badly that I fell to the ground in the shower and was stuck on my back having spasm after spasm and couldn’t move, all while the shower water was p***ing down on me.’

‘All I could think was, “I have to get to my phone”, which was all the way across the apartment in the bedroom,’ Daragh explained. ‘I crawled on my back inch by inch across the gaf and called an ambulance. I felt like a muppet calling them, but even if someone was here, they couldn’t have lifted me up (112kg ogre).
‘The medics came and had to fill me with morphine to relax my body so I could be brought down to the ambulance.. I was brought straight into the hospital and given some stronger meds to settle it down.
‘As for diagnosis, I won’t know until it settles down a bit, but this is my setup for the foreseeable. Will keep ye updated… enjoy the weekend and sink some creamers in my name.’

‘Jesus Daragh,’ Katja’s 2FM co-host Laura Fox wrote after reading the story, as Tadhg Fleming chimed in: ‘Jaysus man. Mind yourself, FFS. Speedy recovery.’
He may be ‘out of action’ in terms of roaming around, but we think all this recovery time in bed is the perfect opportunity for some wedding admin!
Katja previously told EVOKE that her ‘type A’ husband is at the helm of wedding planning, while she’s doing all the ‘fun’ stuff in preparation.

‘Daragh is definitely at the helm,’ she told us. ‘He is a Type A. He is locked in. I’m planning the wedding with our wedding planner, but it is all thanks to him. I have to give credit where it is due; he is great.’
