It seems like only yesterday that the fresh-faced 19-year-old Nicky Byrne joined Westlife, and now his twin boys, 18-year-old Rocco and Jay, have graduated secondary school – where does the time go?
Nicky, along with Shane Filan and Kian Egan, is about to head off on a world tour with the band for their Westlife 25 – The Anniversary World Tour, but first, it was family time.
Earlier this month, his youngest, Gia, made her confirmation, and now both boys are getting ready to enter the ‘big bad world’.
Feeling a little emotional, Nicky posted a series of photos in a reel on his social media, looking at the boys’ schooling achievements over the years.
It featured them in their school uniforms at just four or five years old, getting ready for their first day in education, to starting Malahide Community School.
Mum and Dad sat proudly in the audience while both Rocco and Jay accepted their graduation certificates this week.
Nicky sweetly wrote: ‘From tiny matching uniforms to their final School day and Graduation. How did time move so fast? Nobody could have prepared us for this day.
‘Nobody could have prepared us for this day. Our hearts ache with pride and sadness as our boys close one beautiful chapter and begin another. We are so proud of you both.
‘Well done, lads, you are both just incredible!’
