First Dates Ireland couple Fayth Byrne and James Farrell have announced the birth of their first child.

Sharing the news earlier this week, Fayth revealed they had welcomed a baby girl named Éala Valerie Farrell.

Éala was born on August 4 at 3.30pm. The First Dates Ireland star introduced her baby girl, writing: ‘Our Miracle girl words can’t describe how much you’ve completed us. Every time I look at you, I cry your’re so perfect.’

Fayth and James appeared on the Late Late Show to mark a decade of First Dates Ireland in February, and their appearance was aptly timed as they got to share their exciting baby news live on air.

‘We’re having a baby,’ Fayth told host Patrick Kielty and the audience at home and in-studio.

Elsewhere, James spoke about being swept off his feet by Fayth upon first meeting her on First Dates Ireland.

He told Patrick: ‘I’m a confident, out-there person. There’s no messing, you get what you get. I was on all the dating profiles, Hinge and Tinder, but it was all full of situationships. It’s not for me.

‘I went on [First Dates] looking for my wife. There was no messing with me; I wasn’t going on there for no reason. I was going on there to find the one for me. As soon as I saw her, I knew that was the one for me.’

Meanwhile, Fayth opened up about her struggle with endometriosis after being diagnosed with the condition at 18 years old.

‘I was told it was a very slim chance that I’d ever have kids,’ she said. ‘I was told at 25 that it would most likely be that I had to get my womb taken out. It was hard to hear so young, especially always loving children and wanting to have my own.’

Thankfully, the stars aligned for Fayth and James, and they’ve welcomed their little one to the world.

Fayth and James first shared their baby news on Christmas Eve, posting a gorgeous photo of a basket filled with baby bits, including a poster that read, ‘The best things in life are sometimes unexpected – arriving July 2026.’

At the time, Fayth wrote: ‘A Christmas Miracle. Being told at 18 that I might never be a mammy, to finding out about you, my little blessing. Daddy and I love you so much.’
