With several books to her name, you’d be forgiven for thinking that the excitement of publication day might have worn off for Cecelia Ahern.
Not so, however, and especially this time around, as the author has a career first to celebrate this July.
Cecelia is marking two big occasions on Thursday, saying she’s ‘deliriously happy and feeling incredibly grateful.’

Sharing on Instagram, Cecelia said: ‘It’s publication day today for not just one but two novels! I’m deliriously happy and feeling incredibly grateful.
‘My first Children’s book DETECTIVE THINGY MAJIGGY (big moment for me, I lived in books as a child and hope I’ve created a new safe home for your little ones) and the paperback of PAPER HEART.’
‘Please read them, I love them so much,’ Cecelia added in the caption to her post, which was soon flooded with congratulations.

Detective Thingy Majiggy sounds like a great book for any little budding readers at home and is aimed at children aged seven and up.
Sharing a little about it previously, Cecelia said: ‘It’s the first in a series, and it’s about a girl named Mia Berry who has the ability to speak to inanimate objects, and they talk back! She uses this skill to partner up with objects and to solve mysteries.
‘She’s shy around people, but objects are her friends. She loves to help fix the broken things, and every thingy majiggy she partners with teaches her something important about herself. It’s as much about self-investigation as it is about investigating the mystery.
‘It’s funny and emotional, and I hope my new younger readers — and the grown-ups — enjoy getting lost in Mia’s world with a host of zany talking thingy majiggys and wonderful illustrations by Katie Saunders.’

As if Cecelia wasn’t busy enough, she’s also got a novel coming out in just a few weeks, Love Unlocked. Honestly, how does she do it?!
A synopsis for Love Unlocked reads: ‘Melody has vowed never to fall in love. Al is a hopeless romantic. So, when they quite literally bump into each other, there’s no reason sparks should fly. But the world seems a little upside down lately.

‘A few weeks ago, Al ordered the removal of all the lovers’ padlocks from one of Dublin’s beautiful bridges. Ever since then, couples across the world have started splitting up.
‘Together, they decide to uncover what’s unravelling so many love stories. And, in the middle of solving everyone else’s heartbreak, can they unlock their own?’
We can’t wait to dive into this love story!
