Barry Keoghan has finally opened up about his relationship with Sabrina Carpenter and why the pair broke up, shutting down speculation he cheated on her.
The celebrity couple began dating in 2024, with the actor appearing in the music video for Sabrina’s hit single Please, Please, Please.
However, later that year, the couple split as rumours began to circulate that Barry had been unfaithful to the singer but the rumours were never proven.
‘Unfortunately, having a relationship in the public eye, we all know this from our own stories, but it gets put out there, and it’s like … yeah, amplified,” he said.
Referring to a video posted by a girl named Breckie Hill, he said, ‘You see the narrative, a girl made a video, and then a girl made the same video and said sorry for making that up, but no one seems to latch on to that video.’

‘I’m not asking for people to become my fan and like me because that’s not normal. I’m asking for people to stop assuming and also stop jumping on this narrative and attacking me and dragging me down in any way you can,’ he said. ‘I’m not saying this for pity. Why is it cool to hop on and beat someone up?’
The actor stopped himself from saying anything more about the split as he wanted to respect Sabrina’s privacy.
The star has admitted that his looks, acting and love life have all been the centre of scrutiny online, and the Dublin man remained off social media and refrained from going to any public events because of the abuse he has received on the internet.
Sabrina has yet to comment on Barry’s reaction and on their former relationship.
