Attention all clubs and community groups in Waterford: this is your chance to shine! Clubbing In is back and bigger than ever  on WLR, thanks to Cairde Credit Union and Waterford Credit Union, who have ‘clubbed together‘ to offer a total prize fund of €6,000

From musical societies to drama clubs, volunteer groups to sports teams, and more, WLR is ‘Clubbing In’ with both credit unions to give your Waterford club or community group the recognition it deserves! Clubs are the cornerstones of our communities and a vital resource for us all to enjoy.

How It Works:

We’re inviting YOU to nominate your local club or community group from across Waterford. Here’s what you need to know:

  • Four finalists will be chosen: two from Waterford City and two from Waterford County.
  • Two overall winners will be selected – one from the city and one from the county – each winning €2,000.
  • Two runners-up (one from the city and one from the county) will receive €1,000 each.

If you’d like to be in with a chance of winning the top cash prizes for your club or community group, simply fill out the application form below. The closing date for applications is Tuesday, August 5th at 10am, and we ask that you please only submit one entry per club or community group. Check out the full terms and conditions below.

An independent panel will select four finalists, (2 from the city and 2 from the county) who will then be featured on WLR’s social media and interviewed on Déise Today with Damien Tiernan.

It’s then up to a public vote to decide who will be crowned Clubbing In champions and win the top cash prizes to support their club or community group’s needs.

The overall winners will be announced on Wednesday, August 20th.

Clubbing In: Additional Terms and Conditions

  • General Terms: Standard WLR terms and conditions apply. You can review them here.
  • Eligibility: Applicants must be part of a registered or official club/group with an active committee and end-of-year treasurer and secretary reports.
  • Location: Your club or community group must be based in Waterford city or county.
  • Contact Person: The designated club contact must be over 18 years of age.
  • Prize Money: The prize money will only be transferred to an official club or group bank account.
  • Entry Limit: Only one entry per club or community group is allowed. The first entry received will be the one reviewed by the judging panel.
  • Judging: An independent panel will select four finalists—two from Waterford City and two from Waterford County.
  • Public Voting: The four finalists will be featured on Déise Today and wlrfm.com, where the public will vote to determine the overall winners.

Prize Allocation:

  • Waterford City: The overall winner from Waterford City will receive €2,000, with the runner-up receiving €1,000.
  • Waterford County: The overall winner from Waterford County will receive €2,000, with the runner-up receiving €1,000

Key Dates

  • Nominations Close: Tuesday, August 5th, at 10am.
  • Finalists Announced & Voting Begins: Wednesday, August 13th.
  • Voting Closes: Tuesday, August 19th, at 12 noon.
  • Winners Announced: Wednesday, August 20th, on WLR.
