A 14th century will made by the Wyse family in Waterford at the time of The Black Death
While Waterford Treasures is currently closed to the public, Director Eamonn McEneaney, a mine of information, has been telling us the stories behind the artefacts housed at the museum.
Today it was all about era of the Bubonic Plague, or the Black Death, which arrived in the 14th century. During that time, entire families were wiped out. A will made by the Wyse family has survived the centuries and Eamonn discusses that. He also dedicated today's slot to the amazing healthcare workers who are doing such tremendous work in treating Covid19 patients in the world today, and reminds us how lucky we are to live in times when this sort of care is available.
