Just one week on from winning the National Elite Competition in Belfast, Tramore boxer Zara Breslin has collected another gold medal.

The 24-year-old didn’t take long out of the ring, flying out on Wednesday to take her place among the competitor at the Haringey Box Cup at the famed Alexandra Palace in London.

The tournament is Europe’s largest open amateur boxing tournament, with over 400 fighters in action across various weight classes over the course of three days.

Previous winners at the tournament make for quite the roll of honour – names such as Katie Taylor, Anthony Joshua and Chris Eubank Junior to name but a few.

Breslin fought three times across the course of three days in the women’s 60kg division – coming out on top in the quarter-finals against a German opponent, before dispatching of a Finnish opponent in the semi-finals on Saturday.

The Tramore boxer has secured a gold medal at the prestigious tournament, winning the final in style this evening – capping off a fantastic month.
