Courtney Healy will captain De La Salle in Saturday’s senior camogie final against Gailltir after recovering from a cruciate knee ligament injury last year.

In August 2020, Salle’s championship clash with Gailltir was abandoned when Healy went to ground.

“It was the first game back after lockdown. You never think it’s going to happen you. I’ll never forget getting that phone call and being told ‘it’s surgery, there’s no other option.’ I was just running and went to turn and my boot got stuck in the grass and I tore my ACL. You never really think it’s going to happen you until it happens. I was lucky enough I was able to get the operation fairly soon. I knew the quicker I could get it done, the better chance I had to get back this year for championship. I just want to give a special mention to Chris Dempsey and everyone at OLR Fitness who helped me to get through the last twelve months of rehab.”

Tune into Lár Na Páirce from 6.10 to catch interviews with captains Courtney Healy and Margo Heffernan.
