Four years and four defeats. That's the record of Waterford camogie against Tipperary in recent memory, and one that goalkeeper Brianna O' Regan is hoping will change this weekend.
The Premier County have proved to be a thorn in the Deise's side and most notably at the All-Ireland Quarter-Final stage in the last few campaigns.
Scorelines of 1.14 to 1.7, 1.12 to 0.10 & 0.17 to 0.11 in their last three quarter-finals makes for unpleasant reading, but this year's campaign has a slightly different feel to it.
Tipperary have struggled in the early goings of the All-Ireland series. Two draws on the board will be cause for questions in the home of hurling and they now face a resurgent Waterford team needing to get a win at all costs. While Tipp are definitely at a low point, O' Regan reminds us that they can't be counted out based on recent form.
"Oh absolutely not. We know what they have and we know what they're capable of. We need to go out and try to match that, and if not, be one over them".
Waterford have already managed to make amends for a recent loss. Wexford offered little sympathy earlier this year when they sent Derek Lyons' team packing at the semi-final stage of the league. It meant another year in Division 2, and no hope for an automatic return to the top table.
Last weekend's 18-point win over the yellow bellies has offered them some hope in their pursuit of breaking the quarter-final duck, and while the opening loss to Dublin needs to be considered, scalps from Wexford and Tipperary would mean a whole lot to this group.
"After that semi-final defeat in the league, we were all down in the dumps and we knew that we were a lot better than how we played on the day. Thankfully we came out when it was needed on Championship day and we got the job done."
O' Regan's life was made that bit easier last weekend as the All-Star Waterford attack was in full effect with Captain Lorraine Bray shooting 2.2, Berth Carton with 8 points, and Niamh Rockett hitting five from play. The shot-stopper says that when the score getters are firing, she may well have the best seat in the house.
"It's unbelievable. I was out near Clodagh Carroll at one stage egging them. When we're performing like that and when the likes of Lorraine are scoring, you know you're on a good day. I think I had one shot to stop".
