Mac Dara Mac Donncha from the Dungarvan Leader rates long serving attacker Liam Ó Lonáin as An Rinn's greatest player of the past 50 years.
The Munster Under 21 medallist from 2003 wound back the clock last Sunday night with two second half goals against Portlaw.
"He just doesn't waste any ball," Mac Dara told WLR's Lár Na Páirce show. "Any ball, he does something right with it. The first goal he got, the ball came across high. If he caught that ball, he would have been mauled. He just flicked it over the goalkeeper and into the net. You can't beat intelligence. You have it or you don't have it and Liam has it in spades. He's 39 but he's still a handful. What Liam has given An Rinn over the years is phenomenal. I remember they won a Comórtas Peile na Gaeltachta in 2008 and most observers would have said he was the best footballer of the weekend in both grades. He was that good. No question, he has been An Rinn's best player of the last 50 years."
