Liam Cahill has hinted that he is ready to commit to a fourth year in charge of the Waterford hurlers.
The league winners exited the Munster championship last month after back to back defeats against Cork and Clare. It marked the end of Cahill’s third season on the sideline but the Tipperary man has the option of another twelve months with the Déise.
He spoke to Dara Ó Cinnéide on TG4’s Spórt Iris on Friday night.
“I’ve always said that the easiest thing you’ll ever do is play," he said. "Playing is the easy bit. When you go into the managerial and coaching side of things, there’s so much else that has to be looked at. In defeat, it has to be investigated as to where things can be made better.
"In Waterford, we have plenty of time on our hands now to do that. It’s going to take a job of work with management and players to see can we come up with some of the answers in relation to our demise in form so rapidly over the last number of weeks.
"We’re all very adamant that we’ll dust ourselves down and pick ourselves up and go again. That’s what we do. That’s what we do as players, that’s what we do as management. We can’t wait maybe for next December to come around and get back on the horse again and get going.”
