The Waterford ladies can secure their senior status for 2024 with victory over Tipperary in Saturday's relegation play-off at Piltown.

The Déise won by two points when the sides clashed in the Munster championship two months ago and manager Pat Sullivan is expecting another close encounter. "There's always only a point or two in it. We've battled with them since 2016 in the league and championship. The last day, we were in control of that game in Dungarvan but we only won by two points."

He wants to see a big Waterford turnout at the Kilkenny venue. "We look back to the start of this year and we were getting a bit of stick inside the county and outside the county for playing our games in Piltown. We were very lucky to have Piltown. The Cork game, that we drew, we got massive support that day. Coming near the end of that game, you could see that the players were rising to it.  If we get the same this Saturday, it will help us majorly. I can see this game going down to the wire; we'll be happy to get over the line by a point."
