Waterford’s Romeo Akachukwu called up for Republic of Ireland duty
Southampton midfielder Romeo Akachukwu has been named among Tom Mohan’s Republic of Ireland under 19s squad as they seek to qualify for the under 19 European Championships.
The young Boys in Green face Finland on Wednesday, March 19th, Slovenia on Saturday, March 22nd and Germany on Tuesday, March 25th.
All matches are set to take place in Wolfsburg, Germany.
Topping the group will ensure the side is at this Summer’s under 19 European Championships.
Akachukwu left Waterford FC for the south coast of England upon turning eighteen years of age in 2024.
The talented midfielder has since made his debut for the club, appearing as a second half substitute against Cardiff City in the EFL Cup in August 2024.
