Ballygunner have been named Munster Club Team of the Year, while Waterford's Karen McGrath has been crowned Munster Ladies Footballer of the Year.
The Munster GAA Awards have been announced ahead of a ceremony today in Clonmel.
Ballygunner are gearing up for their All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Semi-final clash with Ballyhale Shamrocks tomorrow.
It's a repeat of last year's final, where Ballygunner will be hoping to once again defeat the Kilkenny kingpins.
The Gunners, who are 48 championship games unbeaten in Waterford after completing the nine-in-a-row in September, began the year with a handsome 16-point triumph in their Munster final meeting with Kilmallock.
At the end of last year, they saw off Ballyea and Midleton in the provincial series.
Following the Kilmallock result, they secured a five-point All-Ireland semi-final win against Slaughtneil in Parnell Park before substitute Harry Ruddle’s late goal decided the showdown with Shamrocks in Croke Park.
Darragh O’Sullivan’s team have won all 11 of their championship meetings in 2022 and have not lost a SHC fixture since the 2019 Munster final defeat against Borris-Ileigh.
They follow the north Tipperary outfit who were crowned club of the year three years ago.
We'll have live commentary of that game, which throws in at 3.30, with thanks to George Corbett Skoda.
Karen McGrath
Waterford's Karen McGrath has been crowned Munster Ladies Footballer of the Year.
Karen, from Ballymacarbry, has captained the Déise for the last two seasons and helped her club to win their 41st Waterford county title in a row.
It was her 15th county title, but perhaps her most notable achievement of 2022 was capturing her first Munster Senior Club title last month with a win over the Banner ladies.
Karen’s long list of honours includes seven Munster Senior Club B titles, five Munster Intermediate titles and one All-Ireland title with Waterford along with a Division 2 National League title in 2019.
At inter-provincial level, Karen has won titles in 2018 and 2019 while at Third Level, Karen was the Ladies Football Player of the Year in 2014/15 and 2017/18 while studying at UCD.
The awards ceremony is taking place today in the Minella Hotel in Clonmel.
