Waterford Womens and Schoolgirls League capture first national trophy

The Waterford Womens and Schoolgirls League claimed their first national title this afternoon.
The Déise selection faced off against Wexford at the Regional Sports Centre in Waterford city on Sunday in the Angela Hearst Inter League Final.
And the Waterford team made sure to put the result beyond doubt before the referee had blown for half time as the Déise led by five goals to nil at the break thanks to braces from Nicole Bennett and Becky Conroy as well as a Rachel Hutchinson effort.
Wexford pulled a goal back in the second half through Liz Evered, but it was Waterford’s day as they lifted their first ever Angela Hearst trophy.
