
A County Waterford secondary school student is celebrating success at the European Duathlon Championships.
Fifth year student at St. Declan’s Community College, Kilmacthomas, Cillian Cloney represented Ireland and brought home a bronze medal in the Championships held in Rumia, Poland on Saturday 26th of April.
Cillian will also be competing in the World Duathlon Championships in Spain this June.
Cillian’s school paid tribute to his achievement, saying: “Many thanks to Cillian’s Coach Brian Swaby, Triathlon Ireland and Waterford Triathlon Club for all their support. Cillian and his family have really appreciated and been blown away by all the support he has gotten from the school community this week. It has meant the world to him.”
