Déise greats Dan Shanahan, Michael 'Brick' Walsh and Martin Óg Morrissey launched the Win A House In Dungarvan fundraiser for Waterford GAA last Friday.

On February 15, 2023, one lucky winner will be given the option of a brand new three bed home at The Monksfield site in Abbeyside or a cash alternative of €340,000. The house is currently under construction by Carey Homes. Tickets are priced at €100 and are available from the website winahouseindungarvan.com.

The draw is part of the commercial strategy in the county’s ten-year plan Waterford Rising. It has the potential to bring in €1.5 million. Programme Manager of Waterford Rising Kevin Ryan aims to raise at least half a million. The draw is limited to 15,000 tickets. Other cash and novelty prizes are on offer to those who buy their tickets early.

1959 All Ireland winner Martin Óg Morrissey tossed a coin between Shanahan and Brick for ticket number one. Shanahan won the toss.

The proceeds from the draw will fund kids’ programs in clubs and schools, academies, coach mentor development, senior squads, infrastructure, support for weaker clubs and other aspects of the Waterford Rising.
