Waterford FC will face Shelbourne at home in the semi-finals of this year’s FAI Cup.
The Blues are in the semi finals for the second successive season having seen off Dundalk on a scoreline of 3-2 on Friday night, adding to their first round scalp of holders St. Patrick’s Athletic and their comprehensive 6-0 win over Leinster League side Malahide United.
Danny Searle’s side will view this as their best opportunity to win the cup since reaching the decider in 2004. This weekend saw Treaty United defeat UCD 4-1, while Shelbourne were comfortable 3-0 winners against Bohemians and Derry City will be at home to Treaty United in the other semi-final following their 3-1 win at home to Shamrock Rovers after extra-time today.
Both games will be played in a double header on Sunday October 16th.
