Hibernian close gap on leaders Villa - Hibernians  1  Southend United  0
Hibernians have moved to within six points of the leaders (with a game in hand) following a hard-earned victory over joint basement club Southend United in Mitchell Kennedy Park on Sunday.  Ace goal poacher Alex Phelan scored the only goal of the game on 71 minutes. Southend remain on a total of three points from their eight games played.
Carrick go goal crazy at home - Carrick United  6  Dungarvan United  0
Carrick United moved up to 5th position on the league table after hammering Dungarvan United in Tom Drohan Park on Sunday. This was by far their best performance for some time. David Whelan led the charge by scoring a brace. Dylan Wall, Ryan Waters, Joe Hart, and Shane Dowley also netted against the out of sorts visitors.
Rams heap more misery on Piltown - Ballinroad  3   Piltown  0
Piltown continue to find the going tough in the Premier League and they came away from St Lawrence's Park on Sunday pointless after losing to an impressive Ballinroad outfit. James Coade scored two goals for the hosts (one from the penalty spot) and Shane Bennett was also on the mark. Piltown remain rooted to the bottom with Southend United. Ballinroad have banked nine points from their nine games played.
Big setback for Ferrybank  - Tramore  4   Ferrybank   1
Ferrybank have slipped from second to fourth after losing to Tramore in Graun Park on Friday night. Eoin Rhodes did put them in front after only 6 minutes but that was as good as it got for Richard Gaffney's men. Sam Shepperd scored on 33 and 41 minutes for the Seagulls and Jack Larkin and Jamie Brazil netted in the second half. Tramore have now moved into third place, two points ahead of Ferrybank.

Huge win for Portlaw in Division 1 A

Bohemians lost their unbeaten record in Division 1A in the Paddock on Sunday morning. Bohs had won their opening five games but they ran into a Portlaw side who were determined to close the gap on them. John Dee (6) and Darren Rockett (47) scored the goals which moved Portlaw to within five points of Bohs and they have two games in hand.
