The weekend's Premier League programme got up and running at the Village Grounds, Abbeylands on  Friday night. The Villa who were playing their first game since the tragic passing of their player Roy Butler (23) came away from the Ferrybank venue with a three-nil victory. Dean Walsh continued his extraordinary goalscoring record by scoring two goals. James Kennedy was also on the mark. Final score.

Piltown  1   Southend United  2.
Two games were played on Saturday night. In Graun Park Tramore were a little too clever for Dungarvan United.  Dean Kennedy put them in front and then midfield player Sean Brown secured the points for the home side with a second-half strike. Final score. Tramore 2   Dungarvan United  0. Kildalton Park was the venue for an interesting match on Saturday. Piltown played hosts to Southend United and neither side had managed to register a point on the league table. Jake O'Connor gave the Tangerines the lead but shortly afterward Sam Grace equalised for Piltown. However, Stephen O'Brien popped up with a late winner for Southend. Final score.

Two more games were played on Sunday morning. Ian Cleary6 put Carrick United in front against Waterford Crystal in the Crystal Grounds. Shane Rochford continued his recent good form by equalising on 39 minutes. Lee Costello regained the lead for the visitors from the penalty spot on 58 minutes only for Shane Rochford to score his second goal of an exciting contest.  Final score. Waterford Crystal  2   Carrick United  2. In Mitchell Kennedy Park, Hibernians were too strong for Ballinroad. Adham Masood scored on 25 and 33 minutes.  James Coade pulled a goal back for the Rams on 80 minutes but then Alex Phelan netted a brace for the home side during the remainder of the match. Final score.
Top four. Bottom two
The Villa lead the way with 15 points from 5 games played. Ferrybank move back to second with 13 points from their 6 games. Hibernians remain in touch with 12 points from their 5 outings.  Tramore have also got 12 points from 5 games. Piltown remain pointless after their 6 games. Southend have got off the mark following their 6 games and they now have their first 3 points on the board.
