Waterford Premier League champions Villa edge past rivals Tramore in cup final
Waterford City’s Villa won the Jimmy Searson Ardagh Premier Cup on Friday night following a narrow one goal victory over Tramore at Ozier Park.
The Poleberry side beat the Seagulls 2-1 in the league cup final with all three goals coming in the final fifteen minutes.
Villa marksman Dean Walsh opened the scoring in the 79th minute before Tom Carney levelled for the challengers.
But it was Walsh again who had the final say, just one minute after Carney had equalised for Tramore to ensure the cup stayed in the city.
