Offaly: 0-17

Waterford emerged victorious in  our George Corbett Skoda Big Match against Offaly this afternoon in O'Connor Park, Tullamore.

Despite playing against the strong breeze in the opening half, the visitors held a 3-8 to 0-10 lead at the interval with the goals coming from Stephen Bennett (who netted a brace) and Sean Walsh.

Eoghan Cahill who was forced off through injury kept Offaly in touch with 0-6.

Offaly started the second-half brightly with the first four points with Brian Duignan hitting three before substitute Seamus Fitzgerald hit two in a row for the Dèise.

The home team were reduced to 14 men when Leon Fox was dismissed on a second yellow card in the 49th minute.

Waterford finished the game strongly with a big impact off the bench. Patrick Curran, who was sharp throughout, ended with 0-4 with Neil Montgomery, Shane Bennett and Conor Sheahan chipping in with fine scores also as the visitors claimed a twelve point win.
