Clare defeated Waterford yesterday evening in Round One of the Munster Under 20 Hurling Championship.

It finished Clare 1-10, Waterford 0-12 in Sixmilebridge.

Fred Hegarty's late goal turned a low-scoring game in  favour of The Banner as they edged out Waterford by a single point.

Meanwhile, Tipperary had a 1-21 to 0-22 win over Cork at Semple Stadium.
