Waterford ladies footballers have secured their spot in the Division 2 National league semi-finals after a hard fought win away to Armagh in Lurgan this afternoon.

Pat Sullivan's charges made a blistering start scoring 2-2 early on with the goals coming from Lauren McGregor and Michelle Ryan.

Armagh responded well as Waterford held a one point advantage at half-time.

The second half was nip and tuck, and it took a late point from Eimear Fennell to seal the the three points for the visitors on a 2-8 to 2-7 scoreline.

Speaking to WLR Sport, Pat Sullivan, Waterford manager was delighted to grind out the win.

Pat say it's great to be in a semi-final which they can approach with confidence.

Waterford take on Tipperary next weekend, Tipp are already assured of a place in the last four.
