The Waterford ladies will play Division 1 football in 2020 after a pillar to post 5-13 to 1-17 victory over Munster rivals Kerry in Parnell Park this afternoon.
Player of the match Maria Delahunty finished with 1-4 while Aileen Wall also tormented the Kerry defence as nine Deise players got on the scoresheet. The winners struck 5-12 from open play over the hour.
Goals from Michelle Ryan, Kelly Ann Hogan, Maria Delahunty and Eimear Fennell left them 4-8 to 0-8 in front at the break.
Aileen Wall added a fifth on 46 minutes as Waterford ran out eight point winners and captain Karen McGrath raised the Division 2 trophy.
It was a proud day for the Ballymacarbry defender.
