West Waterford's Seamus Power is to compete in the Irish Open in Lahinch.
The 32 year old has been handed a sponsor's invitation by Dubai Duty Free following his great run of recent form on the PGA Tour.
Seamus is backed by Paul McGinley, who will host the seven million dollar Rolex Series event in July.
He's hoping he can make it a three-week trip home to remember and also set his sights on qualifying for The Open at Royal Portrush two weeks later.
The Tooraneena man said he was over the moon. He said he hasn't played the Irish Open since 2013 and friends and family are really excited, so he's sure to have
a big following in Lahinch.
He was home in Waterford recently for a family wedding.
Seamus told Kieran O'Connor about his backroom team.
"I've go a new coach and trainer in the last couple of months. The coach is an Irish guy, Justin Parsons who is based in Georgia and was in Dubai for a while and I have a new trainer,
a South African that I came across, so it's going well. I'm very happy with the team now."
