Waterford FC will look to learn and build from their 1-0 defeat to Cork City in their pre season friendly in Ballincollig earlier this afternoon

The weather played a heavy hand in the output of the game with strong winds and heavy rain making the game a lottery.

According to head coach Jon Daly, the team could have been better but he emphasises that it was only a pre season game

He said that the game was a learning curve for the team going forward.

“For me, it’s about learning from certain situations and getting through games with no injuries, which thankfully was the case today”

Manager Daly said he was dissapointed with the result but went on to say that he preferred to lose now rather than during the season.

“Its dissapointing but its a good place to learn, and I would much rather the loss be here rather than on the first game of the season.
