Waterford FC have lost out in their historic SSE Airtricity Womens’ League of Ireland Premier Division opener at Markets’ Field – going down 2-0 to Treaty United.
Treaty scored either side of half-time to take home the three points, goals coming from Katie Lawlee and Bella Flocchini.
Mia Lenihan came close for the Blues in the second half but they taste defeat in their opening outing – and now turn their attentions to welcoming Shelbourne to the RSC for their first home game next Saturday.
