Bohemians 1 Waterford FC 1
Waterford FC secured another vital point with a hard fought display against Bohemians in a cracking game at Dalymount Park.
Jon Daly made three changes as he looked at a more defensive line up at Dalymount with Ronan Mansfield and Hayden Cann restored to the defence with Kevin Long and Jordan Faria dropping to the bench while Conor Carty replaced Trae Coyle on the left flank.
Bohemians enjoyed the bulk of possession in the opening period with Arlo Doherty making some good saves from Conor Parsons and Harry Vaughan while Pat Hickey went close with a header.
Waterford got the breakthrough from a free kick ten minutes before the break as Evan McLaughlin’s delivery was headed back across the goal by John Mahon and the ball flew past Kacper Chorozka.
Bohemians ramped up the pressure in the second half as they came searching for a way back into the game and they got their reward 18 minutes from time when Ronan Mansfield was penalised for a tackle on Dawson Devoy and Colm Whelan stepped up to fire past Doherty who guessed right but couldn’t stop the shot.
Bohs kept pressing forward seeking the win but Doherty and the Blues’ defence held firm as Waterford secured their second point of the weekend.
