Waterford FC remain six points clear at the top of the Airtricity League First Division following a one nil victory on the road to Longford Town last night.

Former Doncaster Rovers player Paul Keegan, who only signed for the Blues on Thursday scored the only goal of the game, on 57 minutes.

He says his side battled hard for the win.

Cobh Ramblers defeated UCD in St Coleman's Park thanks to a goal from Darren Murphy after 72 minutes.

Waterford lead the title chase with 42 points and Cobh Ramblers have moved into clear second with a total of 36 points.

Final score: Cobh Ramblers 1 UCD 0.

Waterford FC will play Ramblers at the RSC on Friday next and a record attendance is expected for a First Division match.
