Waterford FC 0 Galway United 0
Waterford FC were held to a scoreless draw by Galway United at the RSC and have now gone 7 games without a win over the Tribesmen.
Keith Long made one change to the side that beat Bohemians last week with Ryan Burke coming in for Robbie McCourt.
The first chance fell to the home side inside the opening five minutes when Harvey McAdam's cross was met by Maleace Asamoah but his shot was straight into the body of Brendan Clarke.
Clarke was on hand to deny the Blues five minutes later when he dived full length to touch a Rowan McDonald long range effort around the post.
Galway had a couple of chances in the opening period with Stephen Walsh testing Sam Sargeant with an overhead kick and then on the stroke of half time it was McDonald with the timely block after he was put through by David Hurley.
There was a little more positivity in the second half from the home side though goalscoring chances were few and far between. Podge Amond went closest with a looping header and then deep in injury time he forced an excellent save from Clarke with a free kick from 30 yards.
Waterford finished the game with ten minute as Ryan Burke was sent off in the final minute for a second yellow.
