Waterford FC and Sligo Rovers played out a scoreless draw in dreadful weather conditions in the Showgrounds last night.
Both sides had half chances during a scoreless opening 45 minutes. One minute into the second half Mathew Connor in the Waterford goal saved
brilliantly from David Cawley.
Five minutes later the Sligo keeper did well to save a great effort from Bastien Hery.
On 52 minutes a Zack Elbouzedi corner from the left almost went in to the corner of the net at the back post and then Mathew Connor in action again from Liam Kerrigan on 69 minutes.
A Zack Elbouzedi effort was then kept out by Sligo Rovers keeper Mitchell Beeney, before Parkes pulled a late effort wide.
Overall a draw was a fair outcome.
