Waterford FC are delighted to confirm the appointment of Keith Long as the club’s new Head Coach.
The vastly experienced boss arrives at the RSC following eight years with Premier Division side Bohemians where he earned almost a 50% win ratio, and will take charge of the team for Friday’s game against Finn Harps at the RSC.
He most recently retired having spent 8 years with the club.
The 49 yr old Dublin native has been without a club since his departure from Bohs in August.
The first challenge for the new head Coach will be turning around the poor home form with the team yet to win at the RSC in 2023.
Long replaces Danny Searle who was relieved of his duties on Monday, with the team in 5th place having claimed 8 points in 5 games.
Searle leaves the club after 10 months at the helm, a period which saw him guide the team to the motion play off final as well as the FAI Cup Semi-Final, ultimately losing both.
