Waterford FC 4 Treaty United 2
Waterford FC advanced to the semi finals of this season's Grandons Toyota Munster Senior Cup with a solid win over Treaty United at the RSC.
The reigning champions enjoyed the majority of possession but clear cut chances were few and far between in the opening forty five.
Headers from Andy Boyle and Maarten Pouwels went over the crossbar inside the first ten minutes while Corey Chambers saved from Padraig Amond on twenty minutes.
Treaty had a couple of chances but Stephen McMullen was equal to the task on each occasion.
The home side's best chance came just before the break when a throw in from Ryan Burke was chested into the path of Amond but his shot was palmed away by Corey Chambers.
The breakthrough came on 51 minutes when the impressive Conan Noonan fired a corner directly to the net as he caught Chambers by surprise and they were denied a second goal seven minutes later when Pouwels turned outside the box and fired a shot past Chambers only to see it come back off the upright.
The lead was doubled on 66 minutes when Ryan Burke rose highest to loop a header into the opposite corner but Treaty pulled one back through substitute Dean Owens who had only just come on who got behind the defence to meet a Ptacek cross.
Podge Amond also got onto the scoresheet as he restored the two goal advantage when he met a Navajo Bakboord cross and he headed past Chambers on 80 minutes and Andy Boyle added a fourth with another header from a Noonan corner two minutes later.
Treaty scored their second in the final minute when Owens got his second as he again took advantage of a hesitancy in the Blues' defence.
