Waterford FC turned in a disappointing display in Richmond Park last night and were beaten three-nil by St Patrick's Athletic.

Pats took the lead on 54 mins when Achille Campion put the home side in front after Matttew Connor had parried a shot from Darragh Markey.

They doubled their lead on 68 mins, when Ian Bermingham's corner kick was headed home by the unmarked Michael Leahy. He got another goal when he was not picked up from another Bermingham set piece and scored on 83 mins.

Shamrock Rovers have leapfrogged Waterford in the league table after their win against Bray and they now occupy third position and are in the European qualifying places.

Blues manager Alan Reynolds told WLR Sport that he felt the team needed to score in the first half when neither side had the edge and added that the side's defending would need to be better in future ahead of the run-in.
