Galway United 2 Waterford FC 1

Galway United came from a goal behind to take all three points against Waterford in their SSE Airtricity Premier Division clash at Eamonn Deacy Park.

Keith Long made one change to the side that started against Drogheda with Harvey McAdam, the loanee from Fleetwood Town, coming into the starting eleven while Maleace Asamoah dropped to the bench.

A superb move from Waterford produced the opening goal on 18 minutes as Niall O Keeffe sent Connor Parsons away on the right and his low cross was touched home by Podge Amond.

Waterford lost their way a little as the half wore on and three minutes into the second period, the sides were level as Vincent Borden met a cross from Aodh Dervin and slotted it under Sam Sargeant.

The Blues were behind eleven minutes from time when Conor McCormack rolled a free kick to David Hurley and his low shot flew under Sargeant.

Galway then controlled the game to see out the match and take all three points.
