Waterford County darts players enjoyed a successful weekend on the oche, with two of their A players claiming impressive victories in separate competitions.

Dean Finn travelled to Carlow to compete in the Carlow Open and produced a series of strong performances throughout the tournament. The Waterford player showed excellent form in the semi-final, where he averaged over 93, before setting up a final showdown with the highly rated Niall Culleton.

The final proved to be a closely contested battle, but Finn found another gear when it mattered most. In a tense deciding leg, he edged the contest 6–5 to take the title and cap off an excellent day’s darts.

Meanwhile, fellow Waterford player Jack Caulfield was also celebrating success after a remarkable performance on the Junior Darts Corporation Ireland circuit.

Caulfield, who represents Waterford on both the county youth and men’s teams, travelled to Naas for the JDC Ireland Tour 5 and Tour 6 events. The talented youngster produced an outstanding display across both competitions and went on to win them both.

Winning back-to-back events on the same day is a fantastic achievement and highlights Caulfield’s growing reputation on the youth darts scene.

It proved to be a memorable weekend for Waterford darts, with both players delivering outstanding performances. Congratulations go to Dean Finn and Jack Caulfield on their impressive successes.
