The Waterford Camogie team will seek a place in the Division 2 National league Final this afternoon

Wexford stand in their way for today's semi-final clash at Netwatch Cullen Park

Waterford have recorded three wins from three in the group campaign seeing off Westmeath, Kilkenny, and Tipperary

Manager Derek Lyons says they will enter this one with plenty of confidence:

"This is the 'business end' now of the League and to be honest and with the greatest respect to the teams we've played so far, they are predominantly their counties' second string teams.

"So, we're up against Wexford here now and it is their first team. We're into the more serious end of the league, as I said, and it is a knock-out game as a semi-final.

"The reward is huge in terms of not just getting to the final of the competition, but obviously those finals are going to be played in Croke Park the following weekend.

"So, there's a huge carrot in front of the whole set-up here in Waterford and we're looking forward to the challenge."

However, Lyons says they are under no illusions as to the challenge that Wexford will pose to them today:

"Definitely. I mean, I know the work they are doing and the work they did last year - they did change management last year as well.

"I know that they refocused on trying to get out of this division as well because it does afford you the opportunity to play stronger teams.

"And that obviously leads to improvements that you want to get across your squad. So yes, they're going to be huge challengers.

"They [Wexford] will see themselves as being two years down at that grade now and probably even more determined, arguably, to get out of it."

Throw-in for that crucial game in Carlow is at 1pm, and Tomás McCarthy will have updates across the afternoon here on WLR.
