Waterford's Hurling League clash with Galway has been postponed due to an unplayable pitch in Walsh Park.

Carlow referee David Hughes made the decision following a pitch inspection earlier this afternoon, citing concerns over player safety.

Large crowds of supporters from both counties were in the stand and had paid the entry fee.

Those who purchased tickets can use them again for the re-fixture, the time and date of which will be confirmed tomorrow.
