Ballygunner clubman Andy Moloney, who hurled for both Waterford and Tipp, believes that the Deise must take the game to the Premier from the start when the sides clash in Sunday's Munster Senior hurling Championship.
Following an opening round defeat at home to Clare last weekend, Waterford know they have little room for error when they take to the Semple Stadium pitch.
It'll be Tipperary's first Championship homecoming under the returning Liam Sheedy and they will be keen to build on last weekend's impressive victory in Cork where they notched 2-24 from play.
Speaking to WLR's Tomás McCarthy, Andy Moloney says Waterford need to start with intent on Sunday.
He says that it's too early to talk about Tipp as All Ireland contenders despite their impressive win against Cork.
He feels that Maurice Shanahan could have a big part to play on Sunday.
