The visitors took the lead after ten minutes through David Walsh, but it would be the last time they were ahead.
Alex Phelan equalised before halftime and would go on to score again in injury time to take the lead at the break.
Conor Whittle made it 3-1 inside the final ten minutes, with Phelan bagging his hat trick in the 90th to make it 4-1.
Conor Coad's side now have a four-point cushion from second-placed Tramore who were in action on Sunday.
Leigh Quilty's Seagulls hammered Ballinroad away from home six goals to one. Lee Kavanagh, Sam Sheppard, Charlie Binions and Zach Shanahan all scored with Tom Carney netting twice.

Andrew Power opened the scoring for Crystal from the penalty spot inside ten minutes with Jake Mooney doubling their advantage before the break.

Neither side could convert for the majority of the second half until 18-year-old hero Ben Walshe popped up in the 90th minute to level the game for Hibs, before going on to score again deep into injury time to win 3-2.
