Waterford man Damien Vereker and his co-pilot Mitchell McLaughlin came home in 7th place in the time trial at the UCI Paracycling Road World Championships in Ronse, Belgium this morning.

Having finished ninth in the world two years ago, Vereker went two steps better today – and was an agonising 12 seconds off the top six.

Vereker and McLaughlin are in action again in the relay on Sunday morning. They will be looking to improve on their 11th place finish from 2023.
