Rathgormack and Abbeyside-Ballinacourty are through to the knockout stages of the county senior football championship. Both teams enjoyed comfortable victories at Fraher Field on Sunday afternoon.
Defending champions Rathgormack ran out eleven point winners over Kilrossanty (1-12 to 0-4). Adam Murray got a seventh minute goal for Kenny Hassett's men. Jason Curry finished as top scorer with six points (five in the first half) while Stephen Curry shot three. Back to back wins for the Conway Cup holders. Kilrossanty goalkeeper Josh Kay pulled off fine saves from Peter Walsh and Stephen Curry.
Ballinacourty also made it two wins from two. Benji Whelan's men got the better of Brickey Rangers 2-15 to 0-6. Dean Beresford found the net for Courty with just 20 seconds on the watch. County hurler Conor Prunty added a second early in the second half, his third goal in two matches. They had eleven different scorers over the hour. Cillian Ryan delivered two points for Brickeys.
