Waterford's Thomas Barr says postponing the Olympics was 100% the right decision to make.
The 400m Olympic hurdler says he was in quite a good shape this year and was looking forward to going into the outdoor season.
Thomas Barr says they made the right call.
"Really the most important thing is everybody's health. The Olympics can wait and it will be there next year.
"It hasn't really thrown me off too much, I'm not bitter about it, I'm not feeling sorry for myself, I know that every other athlete is in the same boat.
"It's just a matter of pausing where we're at now, looking forward to next year and driving it on again."
He is relieved that the decision to postpone the Olympics wasn't dragged out further.
"Luckily they made the decision early because it helps guide my plans now as to what I'm going to do in the next couple of weeks.
"It was becoming really difficult to try and train properly because the track was closed, the gyms were closed and we were trying to make do and train as best as we could and as fully as we could to try to prepare for what we thought going to be Olympic games at some stage this year.
"It's really taken the pressure off us, the pressure off our coaches and training partners, we're not all trying to come together and get really good decent sessions done."
