The Waterford FC boss was left with a sour taste in his mouth after last night's loss to Shamrock Rovers.
Goals from Sean Hoare and Danny Mandriou helped the league champions ease to a routine win at the RSC despite the break in play in the first half.
Fireworks were sent on to the field by a small number of Shamrock Rover's supporters which required the referee to halt proceedings and send the teams to the dressing room.
A press release from the Guards this morning reads that
"Gardaí in Waterford were called to an incident that occurred at the Waterford Regional Sports centre on Cork Road, last night 5th November, 2021 at approximately 8p.m.
A firework was let off in the crowd of supporters and injured one man. He was taken to Waterford Regional Hospital to receive treatment for his injuries which are non-life threatening.
One man and one youth (23 and 18 years) were arrested at the scene and taken to Waterford Garda station and have since been released."
While Rovers have released a statement to reaffirm that the offending parties will be banned from the Tallagh stadium for their actions.
Fireworks incident aside, it was matters on the pitch that bothered the Waterford boss the most. He didn't overly care about the break in play, or what affect it would have on his team's performance.
Disgusted in my players. We don't deserve to stay up. If we defend set pieces like that we don't deserve to be in the league, doesn't matter how hard or how well we done. From the 91st minute in the Derry game, we've let three of the worst set pieces in that I can see.

The players have let a lot of the team down in the last two games, and if we defend set pieces like we don't deserve to be in the league. They're not doing their jobs. When it comes to the pressure time in the season, they're not doing their jobs.

Asked by Matt Keane about what comes next for his charges and whether or not he would be able to lift them up again before the trip to Longford - the manager wasn't sure what his next move would be.
I don't know. That's my honest opinion. Because I don't know if they're gonna do their jobs. We work on set pieces religiously. Everyone knows their job, and I haven't done them so I can lift them. But if they don't do their jobs, we won't win games. I can see us losing both the games from now on in the season if they're not going to man up and do their jobs.
