Waterford football boss Ephie Fitzgerald says that his players have given everything for the county jersey this year.

The Déise will be looking for their first win in the Tailteann Cup when they face Tipperary at Páirc Uí Chaoimh on Saturday. Despite defeats to Down and Meath, Fitzgerald's side still have a chance of making the knockout stages.

"When I came in, two years ago, we had eight training the first night. There was a big turnover this year with guys going away and work commitments. But the guys have given us everything. The trip to Waterford for training is a very enjoyable one. I've made bonds with those guys that will last for years. They really are a special bunch of players and I hope that can be reflected in their performance on Saturday. You get nothing for nothing at this level. I do think their performances, their improvements and their commitment deserves a result but we just have to earn it and work hard for it."
